Sorry to hear the first reviewer had problems. I have worn this once a week at least for a year with absolutely no problems! Mine is fairly loose on my 6 inch wrist. These do stretch quite alot. But I don't think they would work on an 8 inch wrist. If you have problems contact Relios customer service. I have tons of this jewelry and they are really nice about helping customers out!
